New Couch!

We got a new couch! My parents are moving and were generous enough to give us their luxurious leather sectional. It’s HUGE. However, the couch offers plenty of lounging space and Mau was more than ready to try it out for lap time (as you can see).

“It’s lap time!”

They spent quite a bit of time sniffing and exploring the couch, being concerned (especially Charlie), and being mildly discombobulated with the new changes and the lack of an ottoman.

“What have you done with my ottoman?”

We moved moved the cat tower from near the fireplace to the window, where the armchair used to be. Lots of change for the cats! The new position of the cat tower brought lots of interest too.

“Oh hello! Welcome to my new cat tower!”
Garrus kept giving me the snootiest looks. For him, the cat tree is the Tower of Sass.
“I found my spot! There are other spots but this one is MINE.”

Return of the Box Monster!

Help! The box monster has returned! Whatever shall I do?

I think when Aaron ordered a dryer vent sweeper, Mau was more excited about it than anyone else in the house because it came in a long, thin box. While Garrus and Charlie occasionally sniffed it or peeked inside if a toy bounced inside, Mau immediately claimed the box as his.

Most amusingly, Mau typically saunters into the box after eating his breakfast and has a sit. I guess it is his Sitting/Pondering Box. Evidently this Box Monster contemplates the wonders of the universe.

The box is extra special because it has crinkly paper in it. It also makes a fun gully in which to bat around toys and a spot from which to pounce on his housemates (apparently). I just think he looks extra cute in his box but I’m likely biased…

You Found Me!

Now that winter is coming (cue Game of Thrones theme music), sunlight streams into our master bathroom in the afternoon. The tabbies like to lounge behind the Cat Genies on the platform and window sill – it’s a lovely, somewhat secluded sunning spot. Mau recently found it.

He seemed rather surprised that I found him. But look at that face!

Charlie seemed rather pleased with himself.

Garrus was not amused that his sunning routine was interrupted by my presence.
